Feeding Moray Eels
When you have a moray eel in captivity, it is usually a good idea to have as much information about them as possible, so you can keep your moray eel healthy and happy. One of the most important things you can learn is what and how to feed your moray eel. It’s not that complicated, but you should have some information on it. First, what do you feed your moray eel? You should feed your moray eel similar food to what they would eat in the wild. This is most commonly small fish and shrimp. Depending on what species you have, you might be able to feed it small crab and octopus. You should always try your best to feed your moray live food. You can find most of these things at your local pet store or aquarium supply store. If you cannot find live food, then feeding your eel dead food will have to do. You can pick up small chunks of fish and cocktail shrimp at your local grocery store. Make sure there are not a lot of chemicals in these foods and that they are thoroughly thawed before they give them to your eel. When should you feed your eel? This usually depends on your breed of moray eel, but it is advisable to feed your eel at least 4 times per week. Don’t expect your eel to eat their food everyday though.
