How Moray Eels Defend Themselves

Moray eels are hunted all over the world since they are edible. However a small percentage of them especially the really large eels can be poisonous. Moray Eels are very calm and peaceful. They appear to be completely non violent however when they are disturbed or believe themselves or their habitat to be at risk, they attack. And when they attack, they almost always inflict pain on their victims.

Like mentioned above, they usually never attack humans but they will defend themselves in the face of danger. They have long V shaped mouths which are filled with razor sharp teeth. You want to stay clear of its sharp teeth. Eels are not aggressive at all but when under threat they use their razor sharp teeth to inflict pain on their victims. They lock their teeth into their preys. They inflict pain and cause very severe damage to you. Remember never to provoke this specie its only going to make you regret it. You may also never want to feed it food, very many people have made this silly mistake in the past.

They try feeding the eel food which is misinterpreted by the eel as an attack and the person winds up getting hurt. Remember to always respect the sea and its creatures. The sea is their home and when anything in the sea is disturbed, to them it is the disruption of their home, and naturally they will interpret it as an attack and will want to get their revenge. When scuba diving or swimming, just be watchful and do not provoke the Moray Eels. While a number of these eels are small there are eels that are nearly 11 feet long, you do not want to take a chance with creatures that big. They are sure to cause a lot of unnecessary pain for you.
