Moray Eel Behavior
The behavior of the moray eel when they are hunting is called Cooperative, it is
basically group hunting. This animal is usually very vicious and usually attacks
when they are hunting. There have been reports of humans being attacked by moray
eels but this usually happens when they are trying to defend them selves.
Usually when a human being is bitten by a moray eel is because of the eels
defense mechanism, the eel reacts naturally to an attack, there are no reported
studies of eels attacking humans on purpose. The behavior of the moray eel can
vary depending on the situation, some biologist say that the moray eel and most
of the species are shy and even secretive. The cases of people that have been
bitten by eels have been usually when they are trying to feed the animal.
This type of behavior usually happens because of several factors, one is that
the eel can not see or even hear, how ever they do have a good sense of smell.
so that is why they usually act on instinct, if they sense a thread they will
react, that is their natural behavior. The moray eel is usually a very nocturnal
animal, during the day they rest or sleep and at night they haunt for fish, they
are nocturnal predators.
It is very important that humans are causes when dealing with eels, like
mentioned before this animals usually act on instinct and if you are bitten by
one you need to see a doctor right away, the moray eel has many bacteria in
their sharp teen and this can cause infections or skin reactions.
