White Spotted Moray Eel

The white spotted Moray eel has a very wide body with brown coloration. Some eels might have a greenish tint to them. The white spotted moray eel has large white spots all over their body. That's how it got its name, the white spotted Moray. The white spotted Moray likes to live in very shallow water. They are usually found in water less than 150 feet deep and has lots of rocks and reefs.

It can grow to be just over 3 feet long. It is mostly found near Mexico and the Baja Peninsula in the Pacific Ocean. The white spotted Moray eel has a very muscular body and a very large mouth. It is easily confused with many other different species of Moray eels. They have very similar markings, but other species are not as muscular and have much smaller and slender heads. White spotted Moray eels, like most other forms of Moray eels, are night feeders.

They hide in their shelter during the day, and when night falls, they will go and start searching for their food. Their habits are very similar to other Moray eels. They like to eat smaller fish and other crustaceans. They actually like smaller crabs, octopus, and shrimp. The white spotted Moray eel is very large, and should not be put into home aquariums by an amateur eel enthusiast. You should have a very large tank and have lots of experience dealing with Moray eels before you even consider purchasing one of these creatures. It is not very common in aquariums or in pet stores, so you'll probably have to do a special order, or find an eel specialist to source one for you.
